Urgent:building New High end Secure Linux Server @ 120k , eyefinity 4 display, multitasking

    Hello
GOAL:I am building a Dual Monitor (same size and same brand? 24inch/more) with single/dual GPU setup(dual GPU only if necessary)
I want to use SSD (indilinx/barefoot any good controller) on RAID 0
USB 3 and SATA 6Gbps and onboard RAID.onboard wifi N

Q: What is your intended use for this PC/hardware

This system/server will also run 2 PCI/ PCIe based realtime DVR compression(one D1 and other 1/2 D1) cards for CCTV. It will use H.264 compression and dedicated HDD space. Dahua/Hikvision
Card 1 Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd.
Card 2 Zhejiang Dahua Technology Co., Ltd.

The system will also function as pentaplex CCTV system where remote viewing is possible.

So sytem will be connected to [B]Broadband Bonding Network Appliance Mushroom Networks, Inc.

It will also be connected to presently one and in the future two Full HD LCD tvs for CCTV monitoring.

Fast Data encryption and Decryption capability.

I will also need this system(Server) to run a custom software solution with 4 client machines on LAN feeding data to it. Data will only be stored on Server and not on client and only admin can modify data.I will also attach multiple currently (3) biometric Time & attendance Recorder with Access Control machines via LAN. NITGEN & COMPANY
It will also run acess manager software.

It will also serve as one way SMS Gateway as I will be attaching a GSM modem to it.

It will act as web server when bandwidth gets cheaper.

So system has to be reliable.

Presently I am going to use it at home and will put it in office after 2 months. I am planning to run this as Linux based box.

Secondary use : Browsing, Desktop Processing, HTPCDownload rig(only if extra bandwidth available , 24x7 operation Watching HD movies(sometimes)

Q: What is the purpose of dual monitor system : Spanning as well as mirroring extended desktop
Desktop productivity and research on BOTH monitors or watching 1080p movie on second while working.
I have a lot of data open(multitasking) so want Fast RAM and a good SSD for quick browsing through 100s of TABs(chrome and FF), 10s of open PDF files, word files, excel spreadshit, accounting software, you tube videos ON 1 Display while doing similar stuff, or watching 1080p rip ON SECOND Display.

    Q:Budget:
120K max I am trying to fit in 100k.

Q:Requirements: I have an OPEN MIND

Processor for Multitasking and multi threading : corei7 or Phenom II good OC but basically should run fast on stock.
M/B OC capablewith USB 3 SATA 6 Gbps RAID and good OCing and if possible Wifi N and bluetooth (optional) minimum 6 SATA ports( Two LAN ports optional)
i7 970 when launched on x58 m/b OR please suggest me AMD equivalent. Do I require Intel Xeon based processor??

CPU cooler: would prefer liquid cooling hsf - h50 for CPU I want to keep this expensive machinery in lock with limited ventilation so i want a system that doesn't heat up too much. Else I will make s server room.

RAM 12 GB -16 GB tight timings and reliable pls suggest a compatible RAM DDR III triple/dual channel. 4Gb X 3 is too expensive. Any brand will do.

GPU:single/double(crossfire/sli) you suggest, I would prefer Eyefinity
No gaming so whatever supports DUAL DVI/HDMI setup + 2 LCD HD TV in leftover budget will do. ATI/Nvidia with Double 1080p H264 playback on two monitors. Not sure which GPU to go for.

HDD: SSD X 2 in RAID 1 later on 0+1 (size depends on budget) should run OS and about 60GB softwares , will use 2X640GB WD green from old PC as back up drives. And add 2X 2TB WD black later date. Here lies confusion whether to go for OCZ vortex 2? Intel x25M?

Cabinet: Any Non gaudy quiet no LED please as far as possible (or option to switch them off)

Monitor: 2X24 inches or more in size full HD LCD/LED same make, resolution should be good for viewing HD movies. At least one of them should support tilt, swivel portrait (rotation) adjustable height. Viewsonic
    http://in.viewsonic.com/in/products/...ecs.php?id=395 or http://in.viewsonic.com/in/products/...ecs.php?id=396

PSU: Please suggest a suitable one modular or non. Considering all the req.
Optical Drive: old LG PATA DVD RW / new SATA DVD RW
Mouse KB: old wireless iball laser

Rest of the things like compression card, Network bonding appliance, LCD tvs will be bought separately.

    Q: Final configuration?
No will add more 2 SSD as prices drop and increase RAID array and 2 LCD TVs and 2XWD black 2TB

Q: Where will you buy this hardware? (Online/City)
Option 1 : IBM/Dell ( if they have what I need for good price) I am not sure if they have.
option 2: Custom system Mumbai Lamington road from a dealer who will assemble the product ensuring compatibility and will provide good A.S.S as well as OC the system, :hap2:

    Q:Gaming
NO. No graphics editing either. But as I am going to attach 2 HD monitors and one or two LCD TVs I might require a decent GPU.

    Q:OC?
Overclock only if I get 100% stable system.Stability important.
    Q:OS?
Linux (i want TRIM support on RAID 0+1) Software based (unless new RAID controllers support it HW)
    Q:preferred monitor resolution?
    Full HD/native on Both

Thanks for reading now Please Reply , I know its a complex system TA community please help me build my dream machine.
suggestions welcome pls give me options.

Why don't you try out to look on Dell site. They have a really good range of high end linux servers. The requirement posted by can be fulfilled in case of custom build system. Dell also offers you a customization option but I am not sure about the server. I had provided you a direct link for the server page which you can view out.

    Dell OptiPlex 980 Mini Tower
    Starting Price $1,055.00
    http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...=MLB1974&s=biz
    After choosing
    2 SSD
    2 X 24 inch Ultra sharps
DUAL 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4550 and
    8GB DDR3 Non-ECC SDRAM, 1333MHz, (4 DIMM) ,
    Core i7 860 with VT
    My price jumps to $3,290.00

I need a solution about 120k max both out of my budget and customization does not satisfy my exact needs.
Only if I could get similar configuration custom made I would be very happy.

Re: Urgent:building New High end Secure Linux Server @ 120k , eyefinity 4 display, multitasking

Alright, have a look at the below hardware components:

Asus P6T7 WS Supports Intel Dynamic Speed Motherboard - Rs. 32,820.00
    AMD Phenom™ II X6 1090T Processor - Rs. 15,500.00
    Corsair HX1000W CMPSU-1000HX - Rs. 14,500.00
    Corsair 2GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM VS2GB1333D3 - Rs. 2,950.00 (2gb x 4 = Rs. 11,800.00)
    SAPPHIRE HD5870 2GB GDDR5 (Eyefinity 6 Edition) - Rs. 29,750.00

The total for all this comes around to Rs. 1,04,370.00 .

For rest, like 2 lcd + hard drives or SSd + Cabinet + Cooling equipments = + 20000 to 25000 Rs. more would have to be incurred.

    @unidentified
    Thank you for reply
AMD phenom II x6 is not supported by P6T7 WS intel mobo.
Unfortunately My software wont support CUDA. DOes any of linux OS has built in support for cuda?
I guess you mean core i7 980X, 975 or 960. It supports Xeon too.
I think as long as my DVR cards are entirely doing HW compression I will use limited amount of system resources.
Is core i7 quad better than phenom II x6 at that work???? And is price justified for gain? What if I OC phenom II x6? Is there any chance it will match performance of core i7 in Encrypting data and DVR utility?

    "Corsair HX1000W CMPSU-1000HX - Rs. 14,500.00
    Corsair 2GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM VS2GB1333D3 - Rs. 2,950.00 (2gb x 4 = Rs. 11,800.00)
    SAPPHIRE HD5870 2GB GDDR5 (Eyefinity 6 Edition) - Rs. 29,750.00 "
    is all fine.
Only processor and MB where uncertainty lies.

If 2 SSDs are too expensive I might have to use hybrid SSD+HDD, I think silverstone has a product.

Actually I was going to refer you the core i7 processor, but as my dealer was not having its latest updated price therefore I suggested you Amd Processor and forgot to check for incompatability. Check the prices that were lately updated here for the i7 core processor: Intel processor price list in india

    Intel Core i7 920 Processor – 14990.00 Rs.
    Intel Core i7 950 Processor - 31500.00 Rs.
    Intel Core i7-860 processor – 16500.00 Rs.
    Intel Core i7 870 processor – 32400.00 Rs.
Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 Processor - 54500.00 Rs.

As soon as i get the info, i will def. let you know about the current months price of intel core i7 core.

Re: Urgent:building New High end Secure Linux Server @ 120k , eyefinity 4 display, multitasking

    Thank you bro,
I think I should go for non Asus Mobo.
But again my software client is .NET based and does not support CUDA offered by P6T WS (Supercomputer). i got response that I might have to shell out about 3.5 L to have CUDA support customization done.! So I am ruling out CUDA and P6T WS. I will contact IBM for server tomorrow.

But I am also advised to have DVR compression cards in a separate computer for CCTV operations.
It will be second system. FOR SECOND SYSTEM I am planning to go i7 (on Cooler h50)on H57M/B 1156 with about 6-8 GB DDR3, SAPPHIRE HD5870 2GB GDDR5 (Eyefinity 6 Edition), about 800 Watt PSU in CM 690 II case.( I dont like the blue led thoght)

    OR

    cpu - Amd Phenom II x6 1090t - 14000
    mobo - msi 890fx-gd 70 - 11000
    ram - Gskill 6GB 1600 DDR3 Trident Kit - 10000
    gpu - msi r5770 hawk - 10000
    hsf - h50 - 4500
    cabinet - COOLER MASTER Elite 341 - 2000
    psu - corsair hx620 - 7500

Please suggest me which one of these I should go for my secondary system for CCTV DVR compression(HW video encoding), Browsing, Desktop Processing, HTPCDownload rig , 24x7 operation Watching HD movies(sometimes) Dual monitor(and no more)
