    logitech S220 speakers with imac

I have searched a lot about this on the google to find the appropriate result for this but I am starting to get confused with so several speakers and needed cables so I am searching for a straight forward answer for this particular set of speakers. I have a 21.5 inch imac and I needed to get speakers for this since the internal ones are not much powerful . I decided to get the logitech S220 speakers just because I heard logitech is mac compatible. The problem is that the guidelines suggest me to connect with the green cable to a speaker jack and the pink cable with a mic jack. I checked at the back of my imac but I got only two plugs:

1- Headphone/optical digital audio output (minijack)
2- Audio line in/optical digital audio input (minijack)

I have connected the green cable with the headphone jack and the sound does play but the subwoofer/bass is not coming to play it nicely . I have tried connecting the pink one into the audio in-line jack, moving the green cable to the in line jack, some other combination but it still not going to work properly . Do you know any special cable that I require to purchase to make the subwoofer into work ?

It seems like you ave running with the trouble of setting things up. When it says connect the satellite speaker with the subwoofer, one of the speakers will contain a wire that leads to a plug of some type. There should be a match for that on the another side of the subwoofer. Connecting this in will make that speaker proper. When you look at the back of the subwoofer, you will get a volume knob there and you should try to turn on that. If that still no going to work then you should test the system with an MP3 player, or with an iPod.

    Hi everyone,

I have just bought this speakers and getting some issues to play this, I am not sure it is my fault or related to device or may be the driver issue . The issue has been occurred after installing them and then I got that only the base and twofront speakers were playing. The center and two placed on the back side were not going in the proper way . I have plugged entire wires and checked also after establishing the connection will not use all of the speakers unless the audio source needs it. I am not getting, what would be the problem with this ....

If you are not getting the proper sound from the center and back side sound panel then you should first check the proper connection with the appropriate section and then after you are unable to get the proper sound then you should go for the manuals provided with the device. You can get the proper information regarding wired connection and all. The manuals will show you the proper device connectivity, may be some cables , you are missing out that causes this very issue. So, be sure from that point first..
