Hey guys, today I went out to radio shack and purchased a USB headset. It is plug n Play compatible but when I plug it into USB, it says Found new hardware "Usb Audio Device" and pops up with the Found New Hardware Wizard. The issue is, when I press yes to Install the software automatically(Recommended), the wizard searches for USB Audio Device software and goes into The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software. The headset did not come with any drivers, and I'm 100% sure it's a driver issue on my computer because when I go to device manager, USB Audio Device says the following:
This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.
I've used the CD that came with my motherboard to install audio drivers as I use onboard audio, and it still gives me the issue of the USB Audio Device not working correctly.
I tried plugging in the headset to my older laptop and desktop upstairs, and the headset works just fine, Plug n Play, turns on, and the microphone/audio in the headset works fine.
With this computer, it won't detect the headset.
Any advice? I've been at this for 3 1/2 hours now and It's REALLY frustrating me.
I built my computer, the old headset I had which broke was working fine, Plug n Play, no drivers, nothing. No idea what's going on, but my systerm manufacturer is MSI, Model MS-7399.
I checked for driver updates and only found VGA updates which have nothing to do with USB audio.
