Please insert a disk into drive problem

hii friends to my problem, I studied previous forums solutions. But, i didnt get any kind of rectification.

    Actually my problem is....

I've a Kingston 4GB pendrive with me and it has data in it.

I inserted that pendrive in the USB port and I did the my system format with XP SP2 CD.
I didnt do any Pendrive format. Just, I did hard disk format.

    Don't know why....
    1) when I inserted the pendrive it's detecting as Removable Disk (M
    2) when I'm trying to double click on the pendrive it's giving error as:
Please insert a disk into drive M:
-----even i tried in other PC's it's giving like this only

But, when I inserted another pendrive which is a 2GB one... it is opening.

Please, show me a solution to this one.... Since, I've important info. in my pendrive. So I cant do format. Without formatting how can I open it?

To format your pendrive, you need to just follow the steps mentioned here - The correct way to format a pendrive,You can also try to change the drive letter of your pendrive, follow these steps:

    1. Log on to the computer as Administrator.
    2. Insert a disk in the removable drive.
    3. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Manage.
    4. Click Disk Management.
    5. Right-click the partition, logical drive, or volume that you want to change, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
    6. Click the removable drive, click it, click Change, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.

I don't wanna do format of my pendrive. Because, I've important information in it.
I just want to get the data from my pendrive. So, how to open it and get my data?

The format system type is showing as 'RAW'.

Your Pendrive is somehow corrupt. These can happen due to many reasons. As the file-system on it is showing 'RAW', your data is already lost. Now there's only one thing to save, your pendrive itself. Try to format the drive and may be it may work... If it doesn't work and if its under warranty, get it replaced. Else i don't see any other way to get it replaced...

    Hi friend,

It sounds that your pendrive is faulty as you have check your pendrive with other computer also which giving the same error. And because of that it's giving this type of error. Most of the pendrive error get solved by formatting it. So I suggest you to do it's formatting and if it is still not working then you need to replace it.
