Xbox 360 displays error message "Disk can not be read", may be because the disc is dirty or damaged

Check the disc for spots, scratches or other damage. Here's how: Hold the disc by the edges, so you do not touch the top or bottom. Then, check the shiny side of the disc to see if it is clean and not damaged.

Clean the disc if needed. Use a soft, clean, dry, chemical-free cloth. Wipe gently from the center to the edge of the disc.

It is possible that the problem is not with the disc, but with the Xbox 360. To check, perform the following steps:
    • Turn console off and back on. Try playing the disc again.
    • Try playing the disc on another console if you have access to one. Or if the disc is a CD or DVD, try the disc on another device to see if he can read the disc.
    • If the disc is a CD (CD-R) disc, try a CD-R different from that set. Or try a CD-R disc from another manufacturer.

You can also try other games to determine if the problem occurs with all games that have or only with this. If you have a hard drive or a memory connected to the console off and remove the hard disk drive (HDD) and any Memory Unit (MU) connected, then turn the console and retest the disk. If this seems to fix the problem, turn off the console, then reconnect the HDD and memory unit and then delete any saved game file that is causing problems.

Check if this problem occurs because the country or region of the game disc and the console do not match, check the back of the package of the game. Find one of the following codes: NTSC: North and South America (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Chile and Brazil).
NTSC-J: Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan)
PAL: Europe, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand
NTSC: North and South America (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Chile and Brazil).
NTSC-J: Asia (Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan)
PAL: Europe, South Africa, India, Australia and New Zealand

If the code of the game disc does not match the region where you bought your console can not play the game disc.

If this problem occurs when you play one or more game discs, and if the Xbox 360 has a hard drive of Xbox 360 is connected, try installing the game on the Xbox 360 hard drive. Turn off the console. Press the release tab on the front of the hard disk, and then lift the unit from the console.
