Unable to install HP 1220C printer drivers

I am having problem to install my HP1220C printer on my new Vista machine. there is no problem with my XP machine. I have download the drivers from HP site,i also use the installation disc which was came with my printer this disc also not usefull.

I keep getting an error message :

Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device.

If you Unable to install HP1220C printer drivers then use following steps :

• Remove the printer from the control panel and Device Manager.
• Unplug the printer from the port.
• Reconnect the printer.
• Reinstall all the drivers again.
• If your printer is connected with the USB then reinstalled the USB drivers.
• Do not connect the device till prompted by the application.

Use the printer software for Setup a Printer :
All printers come with their software CD's to install the printer in OS.
This CD's contain the drivers of particular printer.
There is same steps for installing the printer .

1. Connect the printer to your system, some printers connected to USB port.
2. Install the CD which comes with the printer.
3.This CD contain the printer drivers.
It you don't have CD then download the drivers from the internet.
4. Run installation wizard this installation software should be installed completely
5. After all the installation restart your computer and then you get your printer connected with your printer

Install all types of printer using following steps :

1.Click Start button -> Settings -> Control Panel.
2.Double click on the Printers and Fax.

If you can not see your printer Icon that time your printer not installed
open document CH000939 here you get the more information about how to install a printer.

3.Right-click on the Printer and open the Properties.
4.Open printer Properties and click on Print Test Page button.
5.If there is no problem with your system and computer then you get the Test Page, That time your printer installed properly
If you not able to get any print then there is some issues with your printer

Installed printer drivers using following steps :

1. Connect the printer to the computer.
2. Click Start --> Settings --> Control Panel.
3. Double-click on the Printers and Fax.
4. Click on the Add a printer icon.
5. After that Windows Printer Wizard will run. Click Next, to start the wizard.
6.Select Local printer attached to this computer and click Next.
7. After that run the printer installation CD
8. After the printer installation restart the computer
