    Boot from SATA PCI card

I'm not sure If I'm posting this in the right spot but here goes.

I'm trying to upgrade from my standard HD to A SATA HD using a SATA PCI add in card. I have the card installed and working. I can access my new SATA HD through My Computer and the add in card utility shows it as well.
What I want to do is do-away with the old HD and make my PC boot from the SATA PCI card but it's not found in my BIOS, therefore I can't change my boot device. WHY? I've updated my BIOS hoping it would be more configurable but it's not.

Re: Boot from SATA PCI card

There may be a setting in BIOS that sets whether to boot from an offboard device first. For that you need to try SCSI as 1st boot device. You may also have to change some settings in the PCI controller BIOS. Try putting the PCI controller in another PCI slot. If you want you can check out the following links.
