Samsung Super Writemaster dvd drive not working

hi all,
Recently I have bought a new samsung Super Writemaster, but it is not detected in the device manager and when I try to insert any disc it doesn't read the disk. Can anybody help me to fix this problem?

I also suffered from the same problem. One of my friend suggested to me the following steps:

1.Click on Start button then select Run option.
2.Type "regedit" and press the Enter key.
3.A new window appears, after that follow the path below
4.HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SYSTEM -> CURRENT CONTROL SET -> CONTROL -> CLASS
5.Look for {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
6.Now Remove the upper and lower filters.
7.Now, Restart your PC.

It seems to me that you have not connected the Disc Drive properly
Try to check the device by following the steps below:
1.Right click on my Computer
2.Select properties
3.Hardware Devices
4.Click Device manager
5.Check your Dvd drives, whether everything is connected or not
6.If not, try re-installing the device or try to update it.

please do the following steps to solve your problem
1. Try pressing the eject button on the drive and see whether the Dvd loading arm is ejected or not.
2. if yes then try reconnecting your IDE cable.
3. If this does not work try to change the IDE cable.
4. If the problem persists, try connecting it to another IDE port.
5. If the above steps does not help you, get your DVD drive checked.
