How to fixed mobo of HP Pavilion dv 9000 series

    Hi,
I had repair a HP Pavilion dv9000 system of my client. He had purchased the same in second had recently. The problem here is that the graphics card is failed so I cannot add up a new one and display is also blurry. Is there a specific way by which I can repair the same with my own hand. The repair solution here is very expensive. I just need to try a tit bit to get the thing work. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Certain series of DV6 and DV9 there lies a basic graphics card errors. The GPU is solder on the board. You can do that if you are technically strong otherwise no use of dismantling the system. The only best way is to give the system to a nearest service center. By your hand you can spoil the system. There is a onboard video memory on the mobo which can be replaced by the manufacturer only.

You can try this solution. But this lies on your own risk. Because if you are not technically soundfull then no use of trying this solution. If you get 3 beeps on startup after the BIOS code is the graphics card is dead. First dismantle the motherboard. Then put the removable parts in plastic. Now provide a little bit hit to the mobo. Keep the board for cooling and insert it back again. If this does not work then no use. The problem occurs sometime due to moisture.

Here try this out. First disassembled the beast and locate the graphic card. Clear up any dust if you find in it. You can see the GPU with Nvidia written on it. Also you can see a micro AMD processor on the other side. Then try to give hot air or heat to the board for a while. This can be done a blower if you have. Heating will remove all the moisture or debris from the board which can make your system work.

A similar operating can be performed successfully if you can de soldered the video memory. But is very risky this can damage your board forever. May time heating over 160 °C or 200 °C result in working motherboard. But I do not think that you have the proper material for that. It is also possible that your GPU is cracked or damaged due to shock. Better show to a service center otherwise you will damage more.
