HP Officejet J5780 - Error Message

MY HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One Multifunction Device gives an error message "Scanner Failure, Unable to Scan Copy or Send a Fax". I have tried to unplug it for 10 minute and then restart it but didn't solve the problem.

Make sure you don't have any documents in que. If so, delete them. After receiving this error message the scanner may failed, you are not going to be able to copy, fax or scan, these all depend on the scanner to function.

Try this disconnect everything and reconnect everything and unplug unit for 30 sec > ress and hold # key plus 3 key (keep holding) plug in unit again > keep holding # and 3 buttons until screen says reset has occurred > release buttons, try copying or scanning.

Copy and fax can be detected when the paper will be prompted to add the words "original has been placed in". I suggest you first check scan if you still have problems, then I suggest you view the motherboard capacitor.
