HP pavilion dv6000 fails to detect wifi signal

I have a problem with my HP pavilion dv6000 about the wireless switch. It can't detect the signal as it could be. The problem started immediately after i had downloaded service pack 2 for Windows Vista. When i try to reboot, it doesn't detect wireless signal and the light not turn into blue. Can any one tell me that why does my HP pavilion dv6000 fails to detect wifi signal? Any one knows about it? If anybody has a solution for this kind of problem, please provide me the correct solution for the above issue. s. need your advice.

Have you tried going into wireless lan settings, then click on the power mode tab and change to best performance. WiFi Locator is a small device useful for locating WiFi HotSpots for wireless internet connections. WiFi Locator can help you to detect and locate a WiFi HotSpot, and it helps to find the fastest and most reliable place to connect to the internet wirelessly indicated by the strength of the WiFi signal.

There are known issues with the wireless card on the dv6000 and dv9000 families of laptops. If the Wireless Access Point has Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption enabled, then the computer wireless card also must have WEP encryption enabled with the same key.

Re: HP pavilion dv6000 fails to detect wifi signal

Another possibility is that WiFi Locator has detected an 802.11g signal and the computer wireless card is only capable of connecting to 802.11b or 802.11g is disabled in the software for the computer wireless card. I am having similar issues HP dv6113us - the wireless connection has worked, but it usually would not restore connectivity after coming out of hibernation mode. It is also possible that the computer card is set to only communicate with an 802.11g Access Point and the Access Point only supports 802.11b. I updated the NVIDIA and Network (broadcom) drivers, and it now doesn't see any routers, mine or the neighbors. When I go to repair the connection, it says it can't register with DNS. The switch for the wireless network card is strange too - it doesn't always seem to wake the card and turn it on.
