    RAID installation problem

I have an Asus M2N-VM DH motherboard on which I mounted 1 hdd of 250GB with Windows (SATA 1)

I then added 1 HDD 500GB on the JMicron controller (SATA separately)

And I have 2 identical HDD that I want up in raid (SATA ports 3 and 4)

The bios recognizes all my drives well, I recognize my raid array of 2 hdd but under windows, the raid does not appear.

The drivers are updated but in the control panel, I get "1 controller raid" not installed and 1 "unknown device".

Once the array mounted, you must go into the disk manager windows, initialize the volume, create a partition and format it.

But, I'm not sure what to think of your raid not installed. To me there is no reason to have the JMicron hdd, hdd into two single and two hdd in raid on nforce and it rolls.

I found the answer to my question: Nforce drivers do not install the drivers SATARaid by default.

You have to manually install it.

    Re: RAID installation problem

OK, I've rethought after, most controllers pass all ports in raid of a sudden I thought you had already installed in your bones (otherwise it would not boot).

I already tested this installation on nforce but despite setting different ports it did not (the raid does not boot with the non raid driver). NVIDIA apparently has changed its implementation of raid.

This means, it does not change my thinking on the JMicron, you have no need for sata, you can even disable it to avoid a load for the post and windows
