So many peple, say to use isopropyl alcohol but you can use normal rubbing medicinal alcohol obtained from the local pharmacy as well.Kitchen wipes. Its course enough to get most of the thermal paste off but delicate enough not to scratch it.ough to not damage it and cleans the surface nicely. But yeah, alcohol should clean more effectively.Or you can use the standard heat paste that comes with CPU`s and on your Motherboard

how we clean heatsinks and cpu's

You have to be very careful when you apply anything on on you heatsink or board etc. Clean the surfaces of the chip die or core using a solvent such as high-purity isopropyl alcohol or an acetone. Both of these are available at a pharmacy, druge store, super market, or hobby shop. You apply some old thermal paste, thermal pad, or thermal putty left over on the heatsink you probably have to use the latter products just to get a good cleaning. For the heatsink you can clean using paper towels instead of using a lint free cloth. Be careful ,apply very gently other vise it get's scratch.
