This is a new Sound Card from Asus, Asus has a new high-end sound card announced as a special feature very high signal / noise ratio of 124dB. The Xonar Essence STX also has a headphone preamp output board. The Xonar Essence STX fits in any PCI-e connectors and is equipped with the Asus AV100 sound processor, which is also reflected in the cheaper Xonar DX PCI-e sound card. The 24bit d / a converter 1792A PCM is a subsidiary of Texas Instruments Burr-Brown, and converts digital signals to analog audio with a signal to noise ratio of 127dB. The 24bit a / d converter is one of Cirrus Logic CS5361.
The card, whose main components are protected with a metal housing contains two jacks for RCA connectors, one S / PDIF connector and one four-pin header for a CD-ROM player or a TV tuner. Asus claims the Xonar Essence STX outputs a signal to noise ratio of 124dB, while the inputs can count on up to 118dB.
The headphone output has an Asus with a headphone amplifier that can control with a signal / noise ratio of 110dB and a harmonic distortion of less than 0.001 percent. Note also that the op-amps are interchangeable, so the sound quality can be further boosted. Asus supports XP, Vista and MCE2005 and Dolby formats including Dolby Digital Live, Dolby Headphone, Dolby Virtual Speaker and Dolby Pro-Logic II.
