Need New Hard Drive

I have a Gateway MT 6705 notebook. The hard drive that is in it now is a SATA 5400 RPM. Can I replace it with a SATA 7200 RPM? Thank you

Yup, Definitely , you can upgrade From 5400 to 7400 rpm , A standard Laptop comes with 5400 rpm hard drive. But I will suggest you to go for 7400 rpm hard drive for better performance. I recently upgraded the disk in my laptop from 5400 to 7200 , although it was not SATA, I have seen a HUGE performance increase in doing so. 7400rpm indicates how fast the disks inside the drive chassis will spin. This is a good indication of how fast you can get data from the drive.

Thanks so much for the reply. I did buy the 7200 RPM and am going to install it tomorrow. I'll post to let you know that it worked.
