Motion activated webcam

I'm looking to get a web cam to act as a motion detector camera (which takes moving picture). I'd like to know if any of you have a set up or software to activate it as motion-detector. Is the motion activated feature related to software or (motion detector web cam device) hardware?

You can use you web cam as motion activated webcam, you need to install Intrance Motion Detector.Intrance Motion Detector is a useful surveillance program that can detect motion using your Web cam, video camera, TV card or DV card.

If webcam motion detection software didn't allow webcam to work as motion activated webcam then you can use another method : connect you computer to the internet to view your web cam remotely. Web cam will take a snapshot of the moving images and upload that image in to web site You would then simply visit the website periodically to see what your cam's been looking at.
