    Bass cutoff frequency

I am having MSI Motherboard with on board sound card on it and i am having creative speakers with me over there i am having speaker setting where there is a bass boost control. I have this turned on because it seems to sound better turned on then just turning the bass up more. My question is what is a good value to have the cutoff frequency set to and at the same time can anyone provide me some information about it.

    Bass cutoff frequency

According to me cutoff frequency determines the -3dB point of a filter in that case i will say that it refers to the cut off frequency of the audio filters which control where the audio goes either to the sub woofer or main speaker. I think a good value would be determined by your speakers and how well they perform in the region of 10hz to 200hz.

    Bass cutoff frequency

I have read out some where that deeper the bass the more power is required. if you would cut off the frequency then you should roll off any bass below a certain frequency, so the speakers aren't forced to try and play them. If they do try and play frequencies below what they are made to it can strain the speakers and the amp unnecessarily.
