Dvd recorder widescreen

i am having problem with recording on my DVR i can playing back widescreen recordings from VRC also DVDs it can plays widescreen but when i tried to record with DVR it made the picture into 4:3 why this happen how to make it widescreen ?

There should be recording with that 4:3 transmission in. as problem is not the recorder but your satellite receiver. so video recorders go with that and DVD recorder would be different. so receiver not providing the output of 16:9 on the Svideo so you unable to get it.set your receiver output 4:3 to dump that has the 16:9 in. When you play back the recording, you set the monitor to stretch it to 16:9. You can do this with settings in the receivers setup menu.

Old and conventional DVD recorders cannot record HD, but check for SCART connection if it is available then set to output standard definition with widescreen so with the SCART signals widescreen, your DVD recorder can able to record as widescreen.

Change dvd recorder i am having Panasonic recorder working fine with 16:9.You can record the program onto a DVD-RW, rip onto a computer, then use application to add the widescreen flag like with IFO Edit and then burn the to DVD-R.
