Does anyone know about Toshiba hard disk utility

I had used Seagate hard drive since 5 years and was happy with it. Never had issues with it. If I face any problems then I used to use Seatools to fix it. But now I bought 500GB Toshiba hard drive. But since last week I am serious issues with this hard drive. I searched a lot on Toshiba website for any tools to fix it but didn't found any result. Does anyone know about Toshiba hard disk utility? If yes then please provide me.

Till now Toshiba has not launched any utility for its hard disk. However you can try out IBM's Drive Fitness Test or Maxtor's Powermax disk utilities as an alternative if that solves your problem. What is actual problem with your hard drive?

If you are having hard disk problems then you can even try some Windows inbuilt function to fix it. Windows XP comes with "chkdsk" utiilty scans your hard drive for any clusters or dead spots and marks them so that next time Windows just ignores these areas during their normal operation. You can even run chkdsk from the recovery console using Windows CD.

Yes I too agree that Toshiba doesn't provide any utility for its hard disk. I would suggest you to contact Toshiba regarding this and if your hard drive is under warranty then get it replace because a new hard drive shouldn't give you any problems so soon. If you want then you can try other models utilities like Western Digital, Samsung etc.
