Comparision between Intel 2.3 Ghz and 2.5 Ghz

I want to find the difference between two processors of intel. They belong to the core 2 duo family. The first one is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 Ghz and the Second one is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.5 Ghz. It is obvious that the second one is faster but what more is the difference. I want to buy but as the cost differ I will only consider the one which fits my requirement.

I will recommend you to go with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.3 Ghz cpu. It has impressive performance on the user. I am currently using it and it is working great. It right that the Intel C2D 2.5 is faster than it but I am recommending it because it has satisfied my need. As a IT technician I need to work on many tools and software. So I frequently add and remove programs. It is a little cheaper that the above also.

There is not a great difference between both the processor. It depends on the need of user. If you are looking for T7250 and T7100 which a 2.3 Ghz processor you will get a 2mb cache memory, 35W thermal dissipation power, 800 Mhz front side bus, 65nm architecture, etc. But compare to above if you go for T9500 which is a 2.5Ghz one all the above feature are same only the cache memory is increased up to 6mb. T8300 which also a 2.3Ghz processor comes with a cache memory of 6mb. So here you can see the major difference between the cache memory and nothing else.

There are multiple brands of processor in the 2.5 and 2.3 range. They do not have any major difference. But only is the newer version with more cache memory or FSB. I had not seen any major difference between them. Some of intel products are Q8200 which is 2.3Ghz processor, Q8200 which is 2.3Ghz processor, Q8300 which is 2.5Ghz processor. The difference according to me is the speed of 2.5 is higher also it has vid voltage range as compare to the first one. The price also differ much. I think go for Intel C2D 2.3Ghz.
