Vantec Nexstar driver problem with Windows Vista

I have installed Windows Vista 32-bit, For taking back of my disk, I use two e-sata Vantec NexStar 3 enclosure with two 'internal' SATA disks. I have two different brands of SATA drives, both of 320MB, a Maxtor and Western Digital. Through an eSATA cable are connected to the outputs of an eSATA for Gigabyte. Under XP I used these discs to backup programs make important documents and files. They are already formatted and used and are full of data.

I have a Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard. This is so comes with a eSATA bracket, which two eSATA inputs. This is internally connected to two free SATA connectors, now both on the Intel ICH controller. The internal hard disks to the normal. If I choose another eSATA output of another bracket on another controller, it gives no difference. Cables are good.

    My Problem:

If I BIOS external drives on, then the Maxtor in the list of IDE Channel etc., as I 'detects new device click. The WD drive does not appear. If I restart, while both are on, then runs down the boot after I've had the current bar. The screen remains black.

If I use the WD off, but the Maxtor to hold, then start Windows up.
The Maxtor is seen as a hard disk. There is no "Safely remove hardware" icon in the taskbar. Even if I do call: C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll Then the Maxtor external drive is not in the menu of 'Safely Remove Hardware'. It is completely empty.
    The data are normally read.

If I use the external drives to do when Windows has started, then nothing happens.

    What is wrong ???

Which SATA ports eSATA pricked you? You have this motherboard 6 ports on the ICH9 and 2 on the JMicron.

AHCI should like to deal with hotplug to work. Otherwise idd only if they were connected before the computer was booted.

You have Vista installed without AHCI on. Once your Vista hard disk trying to speak missing drivers. Reinstall the appropriate institutions to address this problem.
