hi,
There is a Linux program, which I use the U3 nonsense for USB sticks Remove it?
I have here (and others) 2 Sandisk stick (8 GB), Windows U3Uninstall program went somewhere and recommends me to the "To contact the manufacturer".
The SanDisk Program, go to <http://www.u3.com/uninstall/de-DE/default.aspx> recommends that you that you need to contact Scandisk customer care? That would of course also worth a try. Even if it is only a "Get away with the rubbish" --
Sends message to SanDisk.
To remove the U3 technology from the drive, simply go to the U3 Launchpad and, under Settings, select U3 Launchpad Settings and click Uninstall. This will completely remove the U3 Launchpad from the drive.
Can I restore U3 technology after removing it?
SanDisk's U3 website features a U3 Launchpad Installer utility that you can use to re-install the U3 Launchpad on the Cruzer smart drive. (Http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx)
In Disk Utility, select the disk you want to format for Windows computers.
Click "Clear" and choose MS-DOS 'from the pop-up menu "Volume Structure".
Enter a name for the disk.
The name can not be longer than 11 characters.
Click 'Clear' and then click 'Delete'.
