Running SFC on hard drive

I have a question : Can i repair my damage hard drive running SFC /Scannow ?I use this damage hard drive as a second hard drive in my XP machine !

Edit : I have just done search on net and find that i can repair by going to command prompt - "drive_letter":\sfc /scannow .

The "drive_letter" is the damaged drive?

It depend on the situation like how did the hard drive died Error messages etc ?

Have you tired using the drive maker tools on the hard drive ?

Currently i am trying SFC and it allowed me to change the drives . I think it will work really nicely
