Logitech ps2 mouse

I am using a logitech mouse on a PS2 port. My motherboard is intel DG31Pr. The problem is that occasionally the mouse doesn't work. Do I need to install the logitech driver. I have the software for the mouse but I haven't installed it yet. Does it solve the problem or I need to do something different.

just check first driver check manual of mouse for compatible os. you can try PS2-to-USB Adaptors will allow any computer with usb ports to connect a Ps2 keyboard and mouse.
