    Plug and Play Webcam Not Working

    Hello , I have a usb webcam the Problem is that is does not work now but then it was works properly before and But now I have connect error message appearing on the screen (usb device not recognized: a device connected to this computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it) I tried in vain and but i think it is not a hardware problem what do you could be the Cause for this issue thank you in advance

    Hello , Webcams often seem to be tricky. Have you tried another USB port? If you don't have another, you might want to look at picking up a USB expanison hub, they can be found pretty cheap these days. Also, have you checked in Device Manager to see if any devices have yellow exclamation marks next to them. If they do, let us know and we can help with ideas for fixing it.

    Hello , Your PC is probably using the first generation USB ports.Update to the USB 2. that will let use the higher data flow you need for multimedia,hard disks etc.You can use the older ports for keyboard,mouse,game pads etc.Good luck.

    Hello , Try unplugging all usb devices If you have many power draining usb devices like a digital camera, there may be to much power being drained by other devices therreby not allowing the computer to recognize the webcam This may help. Also does the computer recognize the webcam in Device Manager, if so there is always then you may need to reinstall the driver.
