RAID 0 with 2 hard drives of different speeds

I search for this a lot on Internet but I could not find out anything productive, hope here i will get some help.

    If I put in RAID 0 a 5400T and 7200T both capacities, is what it's like if I put in RAID 0: 2 x 5400T?

In fact ... it is on a laptop. Do not laugh, this is the only thing I can do it!

Let me explain: when everything was working I had a 7200T + 5400T on a laptop (Asus G50v). I've done in the con overclock too high, result: one of the SATA controller is dead. A single hard disk can be connected to both ...

The only solution for me, who would not have invested in a second HDD for nothing is the RAID. Because in my two RAID hard disks are detected!

The disks are new and are exactly the same, with just a difference in speed.

I try it the exact striping (RAID 0).
Does the disc looks faster than the slowest drive I have finally sent its "party"? Because for two hard drives, on sending packets of data simultaneously.

I especially well know the exact functioning of RAID 0. A kind of algorithm of a very high level. Articles on the Internet explaining how it works only in bulk.

    Thank you ...

The problem is that it depends on your RAID controller.
The best is that you test a little with the operation after 7200 and Raid 0 with two hard drives.

The striping is very simple, your two hard drives will be seen as one, doubling capacity.
Data is written on both disks to increase speed of writing and reading. There is no algo communication, each chip has its own way to the multiplex.

Level speed of hard disks, normally your controller must manage: if one disk is faster to write data, the second controller will wait before sending more. Fortunately also, because even with two identical hard disk drives, we can not ensure that the writing of data is synchronous, only one write to a track closer to the center to make it go faster, the state of the cache disk can also have an influence.

For against thy 7200tr disc still 7200tr turn, the controller is not able to influence the speed of rotation.

Thank you, so you confirm it is as if I would go for 2x5400T then I will get the expected output, isn't it?

By the Performance level, yes, it will be the same. For I find against damage to the stripe, you could lose everything if one disk falls behind.

You can not connect your external drive?

Is that external drive need to be fed. Except the 2.5 "USB ... usb And it's a pain.

In short, thank you for your answers,
