WD Black Caviar IDE to SATA

    I recently bought a new config i7.

I had to change my WD Black Caviar 1TB to IDE in bios to install XP. Because before it was crashing with error 000007B.

Do you think I can go back to SATA in the bios. Now that it is formatted and XP installed on it? IDE is not the top-level performance?

Another question, there is a small crackle that comes from fans Noctua. I wonder if I would have to reassemble it. It was mounted by my hardware engineer and I do not know if it is set.

In AHCI mode it is necessary to integrate the drivers for XP. Otherwise you can change mode once XP installed, but refer to the various tutorials on the web.

You will forgive me but you just dump me.

AHCI mode is the mode that fits my HDD? But I have reason to be saying that I leave in IDE?

With IDE @ AHCI there is no great difference in regard to performance but allows for Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and Hot Plug capability.

AHCI mode is not necessarily mandatory for a Sata HDD, you can stay in IDE. Improvement is not so obvious that it
