Can I Install Printer in my PC?

Hi, I am David. I have printer but it's not work properly. So I want to buy new printer. I am thinking to buy printer online. But I have one question that can I install it myself?
Is is easy to install? And what about shipping?
Please explain me.

yes dude its simple you just hav to connect your printer 2 ur comp and install d cd which came along wid d printer.tht it man dont worry

Hi,

Its very easy to install a printer driver locally on a Windows XP-based computer, follow these steps:

• Click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Printers and Faxes.
• Double-click Add Printer to start the Add Printer Wizard, and then click Next.
• Click Local printer, clear the Automatically detect and install check box, and then click Next.
• Click Create a new port, and then click Local Port in the Port type section.
• In the Port Name box, type the path to the printer in the following format, where server is the name of the print server and printer is the name of the printer:
• \\server\printer
• Click Next, and then select a Windows 2000 or Windows XP driver for your printer.
• Click Next, and then follow the instructions to finish the wizard.

1. Go to Start > Printers and Faxes.

Now you can see the list of printers which are installed on your PC.

2. Double-click on the icon 'Add Printer'.

3. Click on 'Next'

5. The option "A network printer, or a printer attached to another computer" is automatically checked.
6. Click on 'Next' and you will see following window:


You have three possibilities to add a printer:

Find a printer in the directory
Connect to this printer
Connect to a printer on the Internet or ... (greyed out)

Choose the first option

If you know the name or location of the printer, fill it in and press 'Find Now'.
(This limits the number of matches).
If you do not know the name and/or location, leave all fields blank and press 'Find Now'.
Select the correct printer and press 'OK'.
Choose whether you want to install the printer as default printer or not and press 'Next'.

• Make sure that the USB cable is unplugged from your computer and your printer. USB devices work differently from older devices and usually need to have the drivers installed before you connect the device.
  
• If you have an installation disk, insert it into the drive. If there is an installer provided, it should run or be executed here. Follow its instructions, and it should take care of installing your printer in a few moments.
  
• If you don't have an installation program, plug the USB cable into your computer and your printer. This should trigger the Add New Hardware Wizard.
  
• Click Next, and then select Search for the best driver for your device. Click Next.
  
• Uncheck all options except Specify a Location. Click Browse. Browse to the disk, CD, or directory where your printer drivers are located. Click OK, and then click Next twice.
  
• Note: You can download some drivers from the web. Consult the web site of your printer's manufacturer, or see Where can I find driver updates for my Windows computer?
• When all the files are copied, click Finish.
  
• Turn on your printer. Windows should detect the printer's presence and finish the installation. If the option to print a test page is offered, do so. This will confirm the installation. Click Finish.

Thank you everybody for reply..Now I have Epson Printer and I bought Epson Printer Ink Cartridges always.Its services very excellent and it is 20-50% Cheaper.
