    Problem a SATA2 hard drive

Usually, I manage to find answers to my questions by searching the forums on the net. There are always people who have a similar problem and I know there are plenty of people far more competent than me to respond.

I try to install a second hard drive brand Western Digital 500GB
It is to save my pictures and videos that I transfer to DVD, there will be no Windows or other software on it.

    To begin is a SATA2 WD5000AAKS.
I plugged into one of two acquisitions that I have sata on my motherboard, the other is used to plug my dvd recorder. I installed everything, I start the computer and the first page that appears to me saying that an error has occurred and to F1, I press F1 and a black page appears and the word is central Wait then anything I have Close the computer.

When I remove the hard drive of the SATA2 and I start the computer everything is correct. I am a beginner, I'm a bit and learn to every problem.

Is there someone who has an idea?

I bought the computer in 2003 at Microbytes a model that they have mounted.
    I have Windows XP
    Motherboard Asus P4P800
HDD Maxtor 120 gig IDE Master
    1 gig of ram
    Intel Pentium 4 2.4 gig

Your hard drive that contains your Windows is also SATA?

If you are family to the bios at startup is not F1 but the choice that suggests you to enter Setup.

Makes you in managing start-up hard drives and assure you that the disk that contains your Windows that is first.

    My hard drive with Windows:
No it is not sata, it is connected with a tablecloth.

No, I am not familiar with Bios, true to say I have a fear of the word. You speak without connecting the new hard drive and see if the bios in my old hard drive is first, yes I checked and everything is ok. Because when I plug the new hard drive I can not get there.

    Do I understand correctly?

Are you afraid to go into the BIOS, but you are going there anyway and you confirm that your IDE is first "boot"?

If so, I feel that your Windows sees your SATA to "Master".
Is there a set of pins to determine a "Master" and "Slave" on your SATA?

Download the installation file from WD hard drive, a CD that you
    and the farm Pc.

Remove the IDE drive that does SATA, starts with the Cd
    and follow the installation instructions.

Configure your disk storage mode and format it with the utility.
