Problems connecting PS/2 keyboard with KVM

Hi!
I have 2 towers: one with Ubuntu Motherboard MSI K8N Neo 3 and Windows XP SP3 with a MSI P35 Platinum Combo. I have a KVM DLink DKVM-2K (PS/2) to connect my 2 towers with a HP keyboard PS / 2 + mouse and a Logitech usb adapter PS/2. If I turn on my pc under ubuntu single keyboard and mouse are recognized. As against if I turn on my pc under windows without turning on the ubuntu pc, the mouse and keyboard are not recognized and if I reboot the pc (for reset) so that it works. Is there any solutions (Bios, windows settings, equipment ...) to be done? Thank you

I don't know your KVM switch, mine is Aten.
Connect USB keyboard & mouse to switch, only single USB connection required for mouse & kb to each computer, connect video leads to each computer.
On the computer using ps2 connections, check bios is set to enable legacy USB devices.
You should be good to go, if your switch is different check the instructions that should have come with it.

1) You need to have it set up so that both machines can handle dual monitors. If they can without the USB adapter, great, if not, then you will need it.

You will not be able to route through a laptop for the 2nd external monitor.

For USB why not enable legacy USB support in the BIOS of the PS/2 PC and add a PCI USB hub Windows will detect the usb keyboard and mouse even if the BIOS doesn't pick it up. They you get to use your USB kit with a USB KVM (without Legacy support you will still need to keep a PS/2 keyboard handy for getting into the BIOS or working in "DOS")

If you were happy with PS/2 keyboard and mouse you could simply use a PS/2 based KVM. On the USB machine use USB(female)->PS/2(male) adaptors for both mouse and K Board.
