    Data Drive external ex FAT

    Hello
I recovered a BB Maxtor External 6L200M0 it is unstable: namely
it is recognized and then it disappears from the desktop or in 30 seconds but it can also be after 5 or 10 mm. I uninstall and then reinstall, then format curiously avanr of the format it was indicated 186.31M0 RAW! after formatting it became ex 186.31G0 FAT. how to put that SD to NTFS or should I leave it like that. True Image This DD is used to store my photos and possibly a fair disk image with True Image.

    hello:

It takes the format / convert to NTFS if you want to store files larger than 4GB (Disk Image -> I suppose they are more than 4 GB) and is also useful for small files -> size smaller clusters, thus less waste of space.

You can format it to NTFS directly if there are no data above, or you can convert it via the command prompt with the command:

    Code:
    convert x: / fs: ntfs
X of course, replace the drive letter in question.

You can always try converting FAT -> NTFS via Swisskife. Or to plant provisionally sata internally to format in ntfs.

Sometimes the hard drive of RAW is simply a bug in a Windows Rights Management, basically it is lost alone in the management rights to the record, once he no longer sees the file format then NTFS it is RAW. So to recover NTFS just get the rights to access the disk.
    In the console you tapes:

    Code:
    CACLS <Ton disc RAW> / P Administrator: F
it does not work every time but it costs nothing to try
