If the keyboard is not functioning, make sure that it is connected correctly to the computer. Check all the keyboard's plugs (PS/2 and USB) to make sure that there are no loose connections.

If an adapter (USB to PS/2 or PS/2 to AT) is being used, verify that it is the adapter that came with the keyboard or that the keyboard supports adapting to a different port. For example, the Internet Keyboard does not adapt to a USB port, and a PS/2 to USB adapter will not work. It does not include an adapter.

If the issue continues to occur, connect the keyboard to a different computer. If the keyboard functions correctly on a different computer, the port to which the keyboard was connected on the original computer may be damaged. If this is the case, contact your computer manufacturer to inquire about how to repair or replace the damaged port.

If the keyboard does not function correctly on another computer, the keyboard may be defective. If this is the case, and the warranty on the keyboard is still valid, you can exchange the defective keyboard for a new keyboard.

To change your port connection: Shut down your computer, and then plug your device into the correct port.
Make sure that the plug is pushed securely into the connector on the computer.
Restart your computer. Microsoft Windows detects the change, and then installs the drivers on the new port automatically.

Lets try some manual settings, but obviously, you probably can’t type as instructed in some of the steps below. Try using your mouse to copy and paste what you need to type from this post to the field it needs to be typed into.

    1. Go to your Start menu and click “Run…”

    2. In the Run box that opens, type “regedit” and press Enter.

    3. In the new window that opens, click the “Edit” menu, then “Find.”

    4. In the find filed, type “kbdclass” and press enter.

    5. The registry editor will no search for any key that has “kbdclass” in it. What you are looking for is any that have a name of “UpperFilters” and a data of ” something_random_here kbdclass” You may need to go to “Edit,” “Find Next” if the search finds something else first.

    6. Once you find the key, double click on it, and edit the text so that it includes only “kbdclass”. Press OK.

    7. Continue searching (using the “Edit” and “Find Next” menu) until you have found and edited all of the “UpperFilters” keys. Again, all should have a data filed that includes only “kbdclass”.

    8. Close the registry editor.

    9. Go to the device manager, find your keyboard in the list (which should still be reporting a “Code 39″ error), and uninstall it.

    10. You should then restart your computer, and with any luck, your keyboard will work upon rebooting.

If that doesn’t work, your keyboard may be physically damaged, or the drivers on your computer may actually be corrupt.

Check the batteries.Try re-connecting by using the little button, usually situated on the bottom.

Make sure the keyboards receiver is plugged in
If you have a Bluetooth keyboard remove any security codes and try connecting this way.

If you are using a USB keyboard and it has extra USB ports try with nothing plugged into them.

Many keyboards come with extra software for extra keys and buttons on the keyboard.

check all connections from the keyboard to the computer making sure they are fitted well.

Try the keyboard in another computer, this will show if its the computer or the keyboard.

If you are in the process of installing an operating system and get prompted for a driver, or if the keyboard problems seem to revolve around DOS program but then the keyboard or mouse fails to respond then you need to make sure USB legacy support is enabled in your computers BIOS

Or remove and then reinstall the driver, follow these steps:

    1. Disconnect the device from the computer.

    2. Turn off the power for the device, if the device has a separate power supply.

    3. Open Device Manager. To do this, use one of the following methods:In Windows Vista, click Start, type device in the Start Search box, and then click Device Manager in the Programs list.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
In Windows XP, click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc, and then click OK.

    4. Double-click Keyboard, right-click the keyboard that you use, and then click Uninstall.

Note If your device is not listed, this means that the device was removed automatically when you disconnected the device. Continue to the next step.

    5. Restart the computer.

    6. Turn the power back on for the device, if you have to, and then plug the device into the computer. Your computer detects the device, and then reinstalls the drivers for the device.

Hope your Keyboard starts working !!!!
