how to maintain life of cd for longtime

hi
i have my big song collection around 100 to 130 cds. in which some cd got suffer from scratches and some bad spot even though i place then in well condition like in that sponge plastic pouch separately. can any body tell me here how can i maintain my cd quality for long life.is any better specific way present for this? thank you.

for storing cd choose place where not too much light is present. the sun light and heat can damage the cd so take precaution.i dont think water or humid can damage it even some time i had washed cd if they are not working properly it works but dont do it excessively.

you are using plastic sponge type case dont use it use that DJ style cases of good quality that would be helpful to you.that is more soft and better.

if you are frequently using your mostly cd then even DJ style cases may help you as putting inside and taking out cd touches to lower sponge and friction occur(not much but enough to make difference ,after you are using around 100 times). well every thing is on your handling . i used spindle that 100cds
