    Internal or External Hard Drive?

    Hi,
I have decided to buy a hdd now since i need a big & better hard drive but really can't decide which type of hdd should I go for?
I dont have any external hdd or never used it but my friends say that external hdd is better than internal hdd.
Now i want to know what you guys say about this? Do you really think that an external hdd drive is better than an internal hdd?
I want to know the exact difference between both the types of hdds?

    Please guide me!

Well in this case the answer really depends on your need.
See if you want this new hdd to backup your data then go for an external hdd.
Now you can also use an internal hdd as your external hdd for this you have to only buy a case for this internal hdd which is a cheaper option if you have any old internal hdd with you! Since this backup hdd is not going to be used on regular basis then external hdd is the best solution for you.

But if you wnat this new drive for your daily use then I must say go for an internal hdd!

    I hope this helps you!

Are you looking at a SATA or IDE for the internal ? I ask because both have their own methods of connecting. For IDE you will have to set the jumpers on the HD (eg: master, slave, cable select)before you connect it. Then the new drive needs to be formatted.
If you have a sata already connected , you should have the app.sata drivers installed,so yes you should be able to just plug in and format that new drive.

If you are looking at external ,you can just buy the internal Drive, and buy a 3.5 HD external case. These are very cheap. You just have to format the HD before you put it in the case.
I think you might have problems using the pagefiles on an external, windows is always accessing/writing on these files if I remember right.(it´s been a while )
