    Buying a new external hard drive

    Hi,
    I have 80GB internal Hard drive & now i am looking for a new external hard drive about 500gb good if its portable with USB interface.
    I know that segate is a good company & western digital too but dont know which one is better?
    I want you guys to recommend me the good product.

    I have these choices.
    1. Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM
    2. Western Digital Caviar Black WD7501AALS 750GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM

    Hey Seagate is a good company & i have a good experience with the seagate hard drives I would suggest you to go for Seagate hdds.
    I have Maxtor 500gb hard drive & its working fine for last 1 year.
    Well you can go with the first one with WD IMO

    I think WD is a good name & they have really quality products go with the first one with 750gb.
    I think its a good choice.

    hi...thank u so much for ur so elaborated reply...
    see i m only worried about the access speed of the disk and read and write speeds while transferring the content...so suggest me the best alternative...
    Also i hv read that WD My Passport Elite works best with USB 2.0 interface...in terms of file transfer speeds...
    how about that???

    n what about Toshiba???

    suggest me keeping in mind all these...or correct me if i m wrong somewhere...

    As per my knowledge Western Digital My Passport Elite is good with there performance. I am using the same and let me tell you that getting the proper speed and data transfer rate. I have not got any issue with the same. If you can then check out the review related to the same Western Digital My Passport Elite and see you found it helpful to resolve your query or not.
