Micro SDHC card problem

What I have is an 8gb Micro SDHC card that just doesn't work right.

When I put it in its adapter and put it in my computer, the autorun screen comes up asking what I want to do and I select open folder to view files. All is fine at this point, I can anything I want to the card like view its properties and such.

The problem is when i try to access files on the drive, it automatically freezes up and I have to ctrl alt del to shut it down. I cant copy to, copy from or delete files from the drive. I considered reformating as I dont care about the files, but when I try to reformat it, windows comes up with an error saying it was unable to complete the reformat.

Any suggestions?

correction, i can copy from the card to my computer but still cannot add files or delete files
