Buying printer for my office use.

    Hi,
I want to buy a printer for office use.
I know there are various types of printers & some are designed for special tasks.
I dont have a detailed knowledge about the printer but I am looking to buy a new efficient, smart, affordable and right printer for my office need.
I also want to put this printer on my office network where 20 machines will be having access to this printer & it must work smoothly. We need to print colour printouts as well.

Please suggest me best printer available in market.

    Common types of printers
    1.Ink jet and bubble jet
Printer developed by Canon which forms letters and images on the paper by spraying small streams of quick-drying ink. The ink is stored in a disposable ink cartridge.
    2. Laser
These work in a manner similar to a photocopier. A roller is charged with electricity, and a laser is used to remove the charge from portions of the roller. Powdered ink (toner) sticks to the parts of the roller that were hit by the laser and is transferred from the roller to the paper. Then the ink is baked into the paper using a heater. Laser printers produce very high quality output and are very fast.
    3. Dot-matrix (impact)
Dot matrix printers have been around since time itself began (or at least that's how it feels!), and they involve small pins in the printer head that physically stamp the ink onto the page. Checkout tills have them, ATM machines have them - they're cheap and fairly reliable, just slow and pretty noisy. And very old technology nowadays. VERY old.
    4. Dye diffusion thermal transfer
this is a process used by color printers. A colored wax film or crayon is moved across the page. The pigment is heated and deposited on the page. The paper frequently goes through the printer four times, one time for each color.

There are two types of printers
    1) Impact printers.
    2) Non-Impact printers.

In Impact Printers, the result is produced by a character shaped print hammer, striking a ribbon against the paper. Impact printers are of two kinds i.e Character printers and line printers. Character printers are just like typewriters. These print character by character across the page within the defined margin. Daisy Wheel printer is an example of character printers. Line printers assemble all characters on a line at one time and print them simultaneously. Chain printer is an example of line printers.

In Non-Impact printers, there is no physical contact with the paper while printing on it. These printers are faster and quieter. Non-impact printers are also of two kinds i.e Ink jet printers and Laser Printer. Ink jet printer sprays ink from jet nozzles and is ten times faster than impact printers. Laser printers use a light beam to transfer images to paper. Laser beam writes an image onto the surface of the rotating metal drum, then ink toner writes an image on the paper.

Just go for inkjet printer which have to compatible with remanufactured ink cartridges and also compatible with recycled ink cartridges. If you go through this, then it will save your money and cut your printing cost.

If you want to get printer for office use and do not work more with photographs then inkjet is better option and if you have to work with images then laser is the better one.

I suggest you to go for laser printer. As the printer would be for office use, Laser printer is much more economical when it comes to measure in the long run. The prints are much faster and the prints are much more then of Inkjet printers. Also text and photo quality, both are far better then InkJet printers...
