How to save data from a defective hard disk

I have here a 500 GB disk (SATA), and it is filled with data. But unfortunately, there is no data in it. At some time it is not recognized.

Now I had about a Identical to organize and exchange Platter. In the hope that there is no problem of Platter, but one of the electronics.

A friend said, however, that in this case, nothing would bring, because the problem seems that the first track he can not find it and tried again and again.

So What can I do to have the data to come?

So I know that too. The track has, however, usually at least one alternate clusters. The fact that both are defective, I believe that is unlikely. I would first start in the electronics and the controller switch. Much more will you even can not do anyway. Someone who thus know whether the model works with the board changes. I think that's not all hard drives. If repair, then a cost estimate / financial ceiling and negotiate specific terms for individuals with reputable firms.

I also didhad some times with a hard drive to heal with the same size to a rescue service. They gave me a price proposal, and it has everything went well. Has a total of under 500 dollars but was worth it to me.

A data rescue service would be too expensive or rather I will get another hard drive at that cost
