Call of duty 4 multiplayer not working ?

Hi i am facing an issue with my game.Early i was able to play Multiplayer with Call of Duty 4.But now i am not able to play multiplayer.Can anyone help me out with this issue.

I am getting an error message as "iw3mp.exe has stopped working".Please give me a good solution and i also try to reinstall but still facing the same issue.

Sure i will help you with that you need to follow few of the steps:-

1. Goto C:\ProgramFiles\Activision\Call of Duty 4\Miles
   
2. In this folder search for a file called mssmp3.asi. Rename that file to mssmp3.bak and the Multipalyer will work fine.

You are getting this error message because there are some issues running CoD 4 multiplayer on some onboard sound cards.

Try to download the software for the Following:-

1. RealTek Sound Card
   
2. Sigmatel

If you have the RealTek soundcard and the above doesn't resolve the issue then try the following:

• Go to Start then Control Panel
• Double click on the Sound Tool
• Click on the Recording tab
• Right click anywhere in the Playback Devices box and select "Show Disabled Devices"
• Enable the Stereo Mix
