Unable to Copy/Paste in pendrive.

Hi friends
I am facing an issue with my pen drive whenever i try to Copy/Paste. I am not able to do so and at the same time i am getting an error message. I am having an 8 gb Pendrive.

Sure i will help you with that, before that can you tell me whats the error message you are getting whenever you are trying to copy/Paste and which Operating system are you using it.

I am getting an error message as "Drive is write protected" and i am using Windows XP Sp2. Please help me out.

You need to follow few steps :

1. Right click on the pendrive and goto Properties.
2. See if the "Read-only" Checkbox is Checked.
3. If so than unchecked it and select "apply to all folders and subfolders" (if it is prompted).

IF this also won't work out than at last you need to format the pendrive and it will solve your Problem.

i am not able to copy any data frm my system to pendrive am very frustrated ,,,,,so hw to solve this problem......

i m using transcend 2 gb pendriv......

Have you tried to format your pen drive and after that checked whether the copy paste is working or not? Follow the steps given below to format the pen drive:

1. Insert the flash drive and open “Computer”.
2. Right-click the flash drive and select “format”
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

After formatting the drive, check that you can copy and paste files or move and copy files using drag and drop.
