Bad sectors? Samsung hard drive F1 1TB HD

Hello,
I acquired a Samsung SpinPoint F1 1TB which was added in a raid 0 of maxxtor 80gb where my Windows XP and a Seagate 500GB of storage.
I created two partitions L and M respectively 80 and gb 920, the first term supposed to receive Windows XP. It turns out that the small partition (L) has enormous problems. The format remains stuck at 0% and only the quick format works. In addition, any diagnostic tool disk drive plant in the analysis. For its part, the big partition running well and was formatted to NTFS without problems. Symptoms of the partition L seems to come from bad sectors. My drive is HS? Should I get the service?
Other information: several times during the first boot of XP, the software Intel Matrix Storage manager told me the SMART event from Samsung in writing that it was probably at the end of life (the hard drive had a few days). Here are some questions that I can not answer .

I think the hard disk is defective, especially if SMART detects anomalies.

It would not be the first time that F1 suffer manufacturing defects. Many on the Net have problems with Samsung which is decidedly not the reference in reliability, as opposed to Seagate.
