Problem With one IDE port on motherboard

Hi i have bought a new motherbord ASUS 945. It comes with only one IDE port
i have DVD-Rom and Segate hard disk both of IDE Port. Then how can i connect both of them on my motherbord ? i don't wanna buy new DVD-rom and Hard disk of SATA port or spent my money more. plz help plz suggest what should i do?

You have to connect the DVD_ROM as a slave device on your motherbord and connect your hard-disk as a master device. ok

your hard-disk IDE cable has three ports connect blue port to motherboard and white port to DVD-Rom and black port to hard-disk.

i have connected as you said but still it is not booting from my hard-disk why so? It is giving the error like "Insert the boot media or restart the computer".

Check the jumper settings of your harddisk and DVD-rom set them according to the instruction given on them and also check your BIOS settings.
