Erasing all tracks, and make it impossible to restore data.
If you think of @ active kill disk so there are better programs,
DBAN
It can take many discs as well as time (better performance)
may take more methods than just zero bytes (better security)
Anyway both active kill disk and dban are the boot programs. It is to get full access to the disk.
Inside windows XP pro, you can use the following command
cipher / w: x:
The wiper will empty space on the X: drive (remember to take quick formats only)
