    Differences between SATA and IDE

    Hi I have a curiosity that distinguishes between an IDE or SATA?

    Hello ,

    2 technologies are fully compatible, being the oldest IDE, SATA and more modern.

    Another important difference is that the new technology of hard drives, the SATA bone, you can work at speeds much higher, being so much faster your PC.

    Another difference is the type of cable that use each.
    The IDE is a thick belt, while the SATA is a lot thinner, facilitating the flow of air inside the box, reducing the warming of our team. The IDE cable is easy to recognize because it connects with a belt or cable 80 / 40 pines.
    Clearly, the 80 pins is faster than that of 40.
    The IDE is the abbreviation of Integrated Drive Electronics, and the means SATA Series.

    if not well understood, but if I want to buy a disc, to know if I have to buy IDE or SATA I have to fix in the box?
