Reasons to partition your Hard Drive

Hi,
I want to know how many partitions you have with your hdd & what is the reason behind it?
I partition my 80gb drive in 3 parts (20:40:*)
1) C: for Operating System
2) D: for workings & Data (Songs & movies etc.)
3) E: for backup with all system drivers & important files

Well i do the same but I have 160gb hdd, but the ratio is same!
Not very particular about partitions & its use!
But i think you have some logic behind the classification! Cool!

I personally partitioned my HDD in order to separated programs from data, making it easier to backup my data (all I have to do is just burn a DVD with the entire contents of my second partition).

I thinks its a good idea to take backup of your data time to time!
