Re: How to Configure a VPN in Windows 7 and Vista

Step 6: Choose from the user accounts allowed to connect to the VPN Users tab. A new account can be created by clicking New and entering a username and a password.

    Windows 7 Incoming Connection Properties

Management tab network is only useful in some cases. If the computer is behind a router, you must set yourself the IP addresses that can be accessed via your VPN. These addresses must be different from those used by the router. For example, if your computer is part of a local network with addresses 192.168.0.x type choose for your VPN network IP addresses from 10.0.0.1 to 10.0.0.x, where x is the number of computers that can simultaneously be on your virtual network.

Now that the server is configured, you must create at least one remote access connection to the server. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1: Head to the Control Panel and select Network and Sharing Center. Click on Setup up a new connection or network.

Re: How to Configure a VPN in Windows 7 and Vista

There is also a simpler way of just going to the networking connections and selecting setup a new network and then going over to vpn connections then just clicking next and filling out the required blocks (server name, address, password) and voilĂ* it is done!
