How to recover Android apps after Factory Reset or Rooting

Google Play offers us access to tons of apps and games. We blindly install them in our Smartphone’s and Tablet and at the end what result is a slow clumsy device that cannot perform better. It is really annoying. The only best option left to improve your device performance back is to reset it. Many perform factory restore while many go with rooting method. Factory Restore is the basic option where the phone wipes out the applications and internal settings. It cleans the ram and you get a better performing device, while rooting is something different. Rooting provide you to use a custom ram that can add more features and enhance the phone output. Under which you overwrite the official phone OS with Custom one. This is same like installing pirated Windows over Genuine copy. Android is open source OS so there is nothing like piracy here. But later on there is a problem. Once you run factory settings or root the device you will lose all the applications. So in this guide I am going to post some nice ways through which you can get all your applications back. Use this only for restoring important apps. If you restore everything back your device might get slow again. Applications which sync your email, contacts, calendar, online storage, etc are important. Reconfiguring them is a waste of time. But thanks to android platform we are having tons of methods for restoring the original state of device.

Some method below is done through application while some requires require rooting. So here you can choose the one which is easy. First we will go ahead with basic method. That is by installing third party applications. These applications can help you to restore your pre-installed application and some of them also offer you choice which to install and which to avoid.

Method 1: Restoring Apps via Google Play

    Google Play

Whenever you install an application, Google Play keeps a record of that. It is associated with your gmail id. You just have to login first and click on Apps > My Apps. You will get the list of all pre-installed applications. But you have to add them manually by clicking on them one by one. This is the only drawback of this method. IT also provides you choice to choose only those application and games which you want. You can avoid others. There is no option available to install everything together. Also everything will be a fresh installation. So you are not going to get any previous data here.

Method 2: Using Third Party Backup and Restore Apps

    Not Require Rooting

    1. App Backup & Restore:

    App Backup & Restore

You can find this application for free on Google Play. The app offers a very simple interface for restoring apps when you reset your mobile phone. It has a simple menu which gives you more choices over others. It is ideally designed for installed apps only. Install it via Google Play. Once done launch the app and on the first screen you can see the list of installed applications. Now you can simply backup them in your SD Card. Just choose the application and click on green backup button below. All apps will be saved in your SD card and later on you can restore it in similar way. So this is one of the most easiest option I had see that can help you to restore the deleted application during resetting or recovery process. It also support auto backup. The app usually works on apk files only. It does not backup the app data like save game, offline files, etc.

    Method 3: Advance Mode

This method is for advance users. Those who wants to instantly backup all the apk files and restore then instantly. Now there is a tool available for windows called as APK Batch Installer Tool. This tool can help you to backup your apk file with folders and also restore them easily also. The tool runs a batch backup process which copies everything. And the same is application for restoration also. Below you can see the screenshot of APK Batch Installer Tool. This tool is really effective in instantly restoring the backup files. There is no need to manually select each and every apk files or waste your data bandwidth.

    APK Batch Installer

To use this you will need a rooted device. You have to enable usb debug mode from settings. USB debugging will not work if your device is not rooted. The option will remain grayed out. The first things you have to do are click on Backup Install Apk and provide a location to save the files. If your device is not rooted then you will get a permission error. Store the files at proper location. Later on you can factory reset your phone, you can install custom rom and to install the old data backup just run the software back again and select Batch Install. It works really fine and has a smooth operation. I found this method as the most effective among all. Because it restore everything. Your sms, contacts, etc.
