Currently, motherboard manufacturers are designing programs to upgrade their mobo bios from Windows easily and now it is very easy to perform that procedure. Gigabyte has a program to flash the bios, that is called @BIOS and it works for all motherboard models for the same manufacturer. Download @BIOS from the below link which is region wise uploaded:
Asia - Download Link
China - Download Link
America - Download Link
Europe - Download Link
Now, follow the procedure below to update Bios on Gigabyte motherboard with the help of @BIOS Tool:
1. First of you will need to download the @BIOS file from the above mentioned link and simply double click on the Setup.exe executable file. The below window will appear, so just click on Next
2. Then click on the Install button as, shown in the below image
3. And after that, once the installation is finished then click on Finish
Now, before using the program to update the bios, you must take into account some important details which are mentioned below:
You need to know the exact model and revision of your Gigabyte motherboard so that you will download the correct bios for same. If you open the @Bios program, then it will indicate the motherboard model but not the revision number. In the below image, you can see a drawing on the plate for same:
The revision number is printed on it, in the current plate which is written on the edge (red box) and the oldest plates is generally written in the center, next to the model (yellow box) or by the first module of RAM slots (green box).
After identifying the model and revision number, search for their latest bios on the Gigabyte website here and download the same. After downloading the bios, you will get a zip file, which should be unzipped by using either winzip or winrar tool and 3 files will be decompressed, that is; autoexec.bat, the FLASHSPI and the third (which varies depending on the model name of motherboard) is the new bios file.
After having installed the @BIOS and the new bios that you have downloaded in your computer, you should close all unnecessary programs and disable the antivirus, the purpose of this is that, no program should interfere or affect the bios update because if the update fails in the middle fue to some interruption caused by this things, then it will be major and could also corrupt the mobo bios. However, in the current Gigabyte motherboards, the interruption would not be a problem as the company has incorporated Dual Bios technology and therefore with the next boot of the motherboard, it will automatically restore the BIOS to the factory version but if it is an old motherboard (without Dual Bios) then simply, it will be "dead" and cant be used any longer.
