CoolerMaster is one of the leading manufacturers of cpu chassis, cpu fan, power supply and other accessories. This is a short buying guide who will provide you detailed description and information on CoolerMasters' cpu cabinet. We really do not put much pressure on our mind to buy a cpu case. Call it a cpu case, or cpu cabinet, or chassis, etc all goes to one big box which consumes your every hardware. The only thing we prefer to see is the look. And hardly we matter about the design. But today due to ever increasing requirement it has become necessary to check the cpu cabinet also. There are specification and details offered by CoolerMaster. I choose to go with CoolerMasters model because of a particular reason. First the cabinet comes with awesome design and features. Second you can buy that easily in your local area or from any online site. CoolerMaster offers cpu cabinets under Full Tower, Ultra Tower, Mid Tower, and Mini Tower & Mini ITX. You can choose from the range which you want and begin making your own new system. Full Tower cabinets are meant for gaming work and high end systems. They offer you more hard drive bay, liquid cooling support, larger area and some of them are equipped with customized design also. Second Ultra Tower cases. Ultra Tower cases are bit different than any other. In one word you can make a beast out of it. Awesome design and heavy body offers you a durable high end system build. Mid Tower is regular size cpu case which you get in desktop system. Mini Tower is a bit smaller than Mid Tower which looks compact and meant for personal desktop. And the last one Mini ITX offers you a thin small cpu case where you can simply decorate your desk. A very nice small cpu case meant for regular systems.
There are certain points you will need to understand when you are going to buy a cpu case. Why I am emphasizing on cpu case buying stuff because in future if you plan to upgrade then at that time I had noticed many has to change the case also. That is really a waste of money. If you buy a high end system and do not think about the cpu case in future to add up a number of hard drive or gpu or liquid cooling will led to add-on expenses. I am listing a number of models with specification below. Try to have a look on the best one you like. Before that I will also advice you read and understand certain points before buying any cpu case. Usually it depends on your need of system. Mostly in custom build system we prefer to put our interest towards the hardware i.e. the cpu, ram, motherboard, etc. But later in future if you plan for an upgrade or add more number of hard drives then find that there is no space left. Many upgrades are halted because of a lower cpu case model. Second stuff, today overclocking is another important trend in the market. For overclocking you need a better cooler management. This entirely depends on the cpu case you had purchase. Some cpu case comes wit pre-configured liquid cooling setup. So there nothing is much left to do.
Points to choose right CPU Case:
There are many points converted here. You can go on the same a bit by bit. First thing you must know that to choose a cpu case you must get a rough idea of what you want. Do you want front port usb support, or a higher power supply, or a better management of cables inside, or easy to carry, etc. This are some points which we really do not care to think about. So by default the vendor sells you the cheapest case he has to fit your budget needs. But adding up a few more bucks in your existing budget can give a trendy look to the desktop system. Other than this high end cpu case are equipped drive bays. These bays are easy to manage a number of drives. In the same way low end mini cabinets allows you easy movability. Leaving this behind lets discuss the point to be taken in mind before choosing a cpu case :
1. Size :
You must know what are the current sizes in the market. The reason behind this depends on your future upgrades. For example you purchased a mini case and prefer to put it on your desk. Later on you decided to put a graphic card in it, then the issue appears. A mini case is very thin. A cpu will not fit inside the case. Either you will need to leave one part open forever which makes it ugly. So here you have a good board, good monitor, good cpu, but because of mini case you cannot fit a gpu in it or use a bigger fan or add more drivers. So size is what really matters. The regular desktop which we see in the market is mid range. This size is common and easily found. I will advice you not to go for small until you are not planning for upgrades. Second thing also do not go for full size cpu case. Full size cpu case are heavy and bigger. They are made of heavy metal and they will not fit on your desk. This type of system are usually recommended for gaming pc or servers. They are also very costly. So as per your need you must choose the right size for your system.
2. Bays and Connectivity :
When you are deciding to go for a mid tower case then I will recommend you to have a look on the number of connectivity options you have + the bays in front. Basically we can see by default 2 or 3 cd/dvd bays in old models. They are replaced with 1. A front port usb support with audio jack. I will advice you to have at least 3 bays for CD/DVD support with minimum 2 bays for a drive. They can be kept separate and used when needed.
3. ATX vs Micro ATX :
At the time of purchase do not forget to check this. ATX is regular motherboard size while Micro ATX is recommended for smaller motherboards. It is necessary to check that which type of board you are going to have.
4. Other Component & Material Used:
Today manufacturers are providing additional component on the cpu case. Like extra fans, led, cables, etc. So this are some add-on which can be helpful. An extra fan is good to have with better power supply support. Do not use leds or any other stuff if not needed. To some extent it is also important to check what material is used in the cpu case. Commonly manufacturer uses a mixture of steel and aluminum. Steel give more durability to the system offering easy heat management and a cooler setup. There are other more metal used which offers better thermal conductivity. But those add-on to the cost.
