Opera has launched version 10 of its browser. It disrupts the world of browsers as standard by incorporating a real web server, Opera Unite, which simplifies the sharing of files and multimedia content without the users having to upload the items on the Internet. It is simple to implement, and very practical!
Opera Unite is a feature of Opera 10, which turns your browser and your machine into a multimedia web server. Not only that server can host HTML pages (like web server), but is also capable of hosting services specifically designed for him. These services extend its capabilities and provide features for sharing and exchanging fairly original.
Thus, you can share photos without sending them before a Web site, listen to your music remotely, to send or receive virtual post-its, etc..
- You must first install the Opera 10 beta browser.
- Once the browser installed and running, deploy the Tools menu and click Enable Opera Unite.
- Click Next, create your Opera account (in the form and providing a valid email address) if you do not already have one, or select "I already have an account" and click Next.
- In the following screen, select the name of your machine (default "Home" is selected.) This name is important because users remote access to your services via an address type: http://your_machine.your_login.operaunite.com.
Note that the last screen by default check the "Use UPnP monitoring port of my router". Leave the box checked and make sure that the mode of your UPnP router is enabled.- Click Done.
- Opera displays the component unit and the home page of your site unit that you can customize by adding a greeting and a photo.
- The flap Unite includes the list of installed services. Six are standard. These services are installed as original but are not enabled by default.
